About

Matteo Cardin starts his career in photography after he had worked for many years as a manager in an Italian company. In 2008 he enrolled in a two years course at the International College of Professional Photography (ICPP) in Melbourne. From Australia he starts working for the Italian agency SIME photo. In 2008 and 2009 he attends two Masterclass ran by VII photographers and travel extensively around Asia working on different personal projects. In 2010 he joins the photo collective Photographers for Hope and thanks to that he works with many international organistaions and NGO’s: Instituto Reacao, Rede Esporte Pela Mudanca Social (REMS), International Network of Street Papers (INSP), Homeless World Cup (HWC), United Nation Office on Sport for Development and Peace (UNOSDP), and the Islamic Foundation of Bangladesh. In 2010 he moves to Pula, Croatia, where he establishes Eikon Studio, a business specialized in commercial photography, photo book publishing and Fine Art printing. In Pula he hangs out with the local art community and, in 2011 he starts an editorial project, Eikon Books, publishing photographic monographs, which aim is to promote and spread the work of photographers from the ex-Jugoslavia. In 2013 he becomes contributor of the Spanish agency Age fotostock.

Matteo Cardin approda alla fotografia dopo una lunga esperienza aziendale. Nel 2008 si trasferisce in Australia dove frequenta i due anni di corso all’International College of Professional Photography (ICPP) di Melbourne. Durante la permanenza in Australia inizia una collaborazione con l’agenzia italiana SIME photo. Nello stesso periodo frequenta due Masterclass tenuti da fotografi dell’agenzia VII. Viaggia estensivamente in Asia lavorando a diversi progetti personali. Nel 2010 entra a far parte della collettiva Photographers for Hope attraverso la quale collabora con diverse organizzazioni internazionali ed ONG: Instituto Reacao, Rede Esporte Pela Mudanca Social (REMS), International Network of Street Papers (INSP), Homeless World Cup (HWC), United Nation Office on Sport for Development and Peace (UNOSDP) e l’Islamic Foundation of Bangladesh. Nel 2010 si trasferisce a Pola, Croazia, dove fonda Eikon Studio, società che opera nel settore della fotografia commerciale, attività editoriale e stampa Fine Art. A Pola frequenta la comunità artistica locale e nel 2011 da vita ad un progetto chiamato Eikon Books che comprende la pubblicazione di monografie fotografiche, il cui scopo è la promozione e la divulgazione delle opere di autori della ex-Jugoslavia. Nel 2013 inizia una nuova collaborazione con l’agenzia spagnola Age fotostock.
